Static electricity is an underestimated risk in many workplaces. The build-up of static electricity on the body can lead to unexpected discharges that cause sparks, which is dangerous in environments with flammable substances, explosive gases, or vulnerable equipment. Antistatic safety shoes prevent this build-up through a controlled dissipation of static electricity between the body and the floor.
Neskrid has been developing professional footwear since 1924 and offers antistatic safety shoes that are S3 certified, providing certified protection against static electricity combined with the highest level of mechanical protection. Available for men and women, in multiple width sizes.
What are antistatic safety shoes?
Antistatic safety shoes are safety shoes that prevent the build-up of static electricity on the body by providing controlled electrical resistance. They have an electrical resistance between 100 kΩ and 1000 MΩ, a range in which static electricity is gradually dissipated without the shoe acting as a conductor at high voltage.
Antistatic properties are a certified component of the S1, S2, and S3 safety standards; all Neskrid safety shoes therefore come standard with antistatic properties as part of their S3 certification. In environments with stricter requirements for electrostatic protection, such as the electronics industry or semiconductor manufacturing, ESD safety shoes with lower electrical resistance are required.
When are antistatic safety shoes the right choice?
Antistatic safety shoes are the right choice in work environments where the build-up of static electricity on the body poses a risk, but where the requirements for electrostatic protection are less stringent than for ESD. This is the case in environments with flammable liquids or explosive gases where spark formation is dangerous, in chemical factories and storage facilities for flammable substances, in the food industry where static electricity can cause hygiene problems, and in printing and paper industries where static electricity disrupts production processes.
The difference with ESD safety shoes is important here. Antistatic safety shoes are suitable for environments where preventing spark formation due to static electricity is the primary goal. ESD safety shoes are intended for environments where even the smallest electrostatic discharge can cause damage to sensitive electronic components. Antistatic and S3: standard at Neskrid
All Neskrid safety shoes are S3 certified, and antistatic properties are a mandatory part of the S3 standard. This means that at Shaped4, you always buy antistatic safety shoes, combined with the highest mechanical protection level known to the EN ISO 20345 standard.
A protective toe cap resistant to an impact energy of at least 200 joules, a penetration-resistant and profiled sole, water-resistant upper, and certified antistatic properties, all in one shoe, without extra choices or compromises.
Antistatic safety shoes for men and women
Neskrid antistatic safety shoes are available for both men and women, in multiple width sizes to ensure the shoe always fits well, even for a wide foot. Wide antistatic safety shoes are thus a permanent part of the range.

Size advice for antistatic safety shoes
Antistatic safety shoes have slightly less room in the forefoot than regular shoes due to the protective toe cap and sturdier construction. Choose your normal shoe size as a starting point and select the width size that matches the width of your foot. If in doubt, we recommend half a size larger. Do you have a wide foot? Then choose wide antistatic safety shoes in the wider width size.
