What are high-model work shoes?
High-model work shoes are work shoes where the shaft extends above the ankle. This higher shaft offers two concrete advantages over a low model. Firstly, ankle protection: the shaft supports the ankle laterally and prevents sprains on uneven or varying surfaces. Secondly, stability: during intensive lifting or work on uneven terrain, the higher shaft provides more control over foot placement and reduces the risk of ankle injuries.
High-model work shoes do not have a mandatory safety toe and fall under the EN ISO 20347 standard for occupational footwear. They are therefore lighter than high-model safety shoes but offer the same extra ankle protection and stability.
When do you choose high-model work shoes?
High-model work shoes are the right choice for professionals working on uneven or varying surfaces where the risk of sprains is higher, activities involving a lot of lifting or twisting where stable foot placement is essential, people who have previously suffered from ankle injuries and need extra support, and outdoor activities on lightly unpaved surfaces where a low-model work shoe does not provide sufficient stability.

High-model work shoes versus high-model safety shoes
High-model work shoes and high-model safety shoes are similar but have one important difference: safety shoes have a mandatory protective toe that protects the foot from falling and rolling objects. High-model work shoes do not have a safety toe and are therefore lighter and more flexible but do not protect against falling objects.
